Damn Those Mini-Pink Squares

So, despite my inital concerns that I might be starting a blog for my own sake and not get anyone reading it, here I am, writing my first ever blog entry.

I remember when I was a kid, I read the Adrian Mole Diaries and loved the idea of having a diary. So I headed up town, got myself about five small notebooks and started writing one. Problem was, if things I'd written in the diary then changed, I'd go and black them out with a fat marker pen as if they were secret Government documents. I believe I burnt them at the age of 12 basically becuase I thought I'd been a bit stupid with the whole thing.

Now, zip forward to today and here I am again, embarking upon a new sort of diary.

As the pleasant pre-amble on the top of this page says, I intend this blog to be an "outsiders" look at the Gaming Industry I am so involved in these days. Why am I an outsider? Well, it's geographic. I sit in Coalville, ten miles outside Leicester which is an hours train ride from London. London being the capital of the Gaming Industry in this country. There exsists a strong cliquey circle in London full of gaming industry types that spend their time drinking, swapping games and generally getting all sorts of freebies. Something I'm not to privvy to. Sometimes, it's something I'm happy about. Sometimes, it's really not.

There's a lot of crazy stuff going on behind the scenes of the gaming industry, even down to lowest ranking websites and fansites. There's all sort of bizarre stories flying around that while are no doubt exaggerated and often bias, they are sometimes highly amusing. These stories are tales that are not news worthy enough to appear on BXB but sometimes wish I could tell to the people around me without having to dirty BXB's lovely forum with such conjecture and here say. This blog will be that outlet.

So, please take what I write with a pinch of salt at all times and try to imagine this as more of a Gossip Column than a serious insight into the Gaming Industry. Please note, if it does turn into a serious insight into the Gaming Industry, tell me, and I'll get it published someone more exciting!

I also don't intend for this blog to simply become a pointless way of promoting myself or BXB. Frankly, I'd don't expect many people to read this that aren't already on BXB and hence plugging myself on here is pretty pointless. If you do feel that I'm hammering on too much about how fantastic I think I am, feel free to notify me by leaving a comment with the words: "Arrogant f***"!

And I've just written a sticky note with "Write in Your Blog" on my PC! Because there is a good chance this could simply turn into a "bored on a Wednesday night" activity.

So, I'll end my first blog with a tip: When playing Geometry Wars Evolved, watch out for the large pink squares that turn into little, unpredictable ones when you shoot them because they will catch you out!
